Recording travel experiences via VoiceThread

I am intrigued by VoiceThread, a new site (in beta, naturally) which lets you post images as a flash slide show, with or without commentary and then encourages people to leave audio feedback. Admittedly, the results can be numbingly dreary. But I imagine they could also be a fun.
Take the case of a group on a tour or adventure holiday. The leader posts a selection of photos from the trip, then everybody joins in with their particular memories to go with each slide.
The killer feature though is that the travel company can then take the code and add the resulting show to its own site or blog. I would find that quite compelling if I was thinking signing up for the next trip – provided nobody piped up about the food poisoning incident or how the tour guide set fire to his tent.

I can see how that would work. Although it does presuppose the kind of person that would want to comment audibly. I know I would struggle with it. The podpress plugin for wordpress allows you to switch on audio commenting through Mobatalk. Although I note that its not released yet – could kind of do the same thing for blogs…
