Google Mars today: helps you work, rest and play

I have never noticed Google Mars before. Sorry if this is olde worlde news but I find the images they serve up fascinating. The big Goog got together with NASA researchers at Arizona State University to create "some of the most detailed scientific maps of Mars ever made". Can’t argue with that.
Sadly it probably isn’t the merry kaleidoscope it first appears when you call up the page.That rather garish image below actually represents a shaded relief map which has been colour-coded by altitude. Fun but you wouldn’t want to go there after a heavy night out.
