Widget heaven: publishing hotel deals the easy way

by Neil MacLean

Hotels of the world, two bits of advice for distributing late deals: 1) publish an RSS feed, 2) create a widget. No, let’s make that three bits of advice: 3) make sure the deals are worth talking about in the first place.

A new service from Widgetbox makes the business of creating widgets ludicrously easy. Just fill in the URL of your website (you know, the one with the RSS feed), tweak the design, click publish.
Meanwhile, on the banks of the Liffey, Dublin Tourism produces an astonishing number of feeds, most useful of which is probably their hotel deals.

Just for fun, I put the two together. It took all of about two minutes to create my very own Dublin hotel Blidget.
