Make your WordPress blog easier to read
March 19, 2007
While talking to financial advisers recently, I pointed out their website did not offer an option to change the font size. Given there’s a clear connection to be made between baby boomers, lots of money, nest eggs and failing eyesight, there seemed a reasonable case to be made for giving their aged clientele a better chance of reading what was up on screen. Granted most browsers allow you to increase text size, but I doubt if many people do anything about that. No, I prefer a big obvious button, right on the home page of a website, encouraging people to alter things to their taste.
All hail then Ferran Rodenas, who has produced one of the most useful plug-ins in the WordPress canon, providing a shortcut to text resizing for those bloggers with neither time nor energy to muck about with alternative styles sheets.
Take a look at it in action on Ferran’s site. And when I manage to find time to reorganise things around here, hopefully you’ll also see it on this blog soon.
