Fortune 500 Business Blogging Wiki
December 30, 2005
The long-tailed Chris Anderson and Social Text’s Ross Mayfield have created a Fortune 500 Business Blogging Wiki to track the participation of America’s top companies in the blogosphere.
Happily the intention is to go beyond a mere list of who blogs where.
According to Anderson:
Over time, as the list gets more robust, we’ll add the share price performance back in and turn it into a Business Blogging Index so you can see if blogging is indeed correlated to company performance (and who knows, maybe someday some smart mutual fund will actually turn it into a fund you can buy).
I will be monitoring travel-related companies as they get on board (you can register for automatic updates).
It is always good to be able to point to big players in the business. I usually say “if these people see the value in it, why don’t you give it a shot? Of course the usual retort then from smaller companies is “we don’t have Boeing’s resources/ we’re not as big as Sun.”
