TypePad in torment

No sooner do I start comparing the relative merits of TypePad and the Yahoo! Movable product for business blogs than TypePad throws a major wobbly and shuts down all its users for eighteen hours.
This is serious and, personally, not great timing. I have a client - a small travel company - starting a blog this week and I am setting the blog up on TypePad.
However, I am with Steve Rubel on this. I believe Six Apart are victims of their own success, that there are very good reasons for that success and that it is worth persevering with TypePad through its adolescence and into mature adulthood.
I suspect though, TypePad will have lost more than a few disillusioned customers over the last couple of days (just look at Rubel’s comments for cases in point). I wonder how many will switch to Yahoo!’s Six Apart option.
